Session 1: Funding Resources for Energy Projects

Lunch Keynote: "The Energy in Schools:  Hidden in Plain View"
Robert Diemer, PE, Founding Partner, In Posse LLC, will talk about lessons learned from designing net zero energy schools and in particular the lesson that the most impactful way to reduce energy use in schools is not by installing new technology but rather, by changing the way people think about energy.
Michael Pavelsky, Director of Sustainability at The Sheward Partnership will speak briefly about other Federal and State level funding opportunities for school energy efficiency projects. He will cover Act 179D of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and Pennsylvania's new funding for the High Performance Buildings and Alternative Clean Energy programs.
Session 2: Using Student Engagement to Energize Resource Conservation Programs
  • Energy Conservation, Recycling, Composting and Meadow/Stormwater programs
