New Resources on IPM in Child Care Settings on EPA website

Just wanted you know EPA has posted two new items of interest on our child care website: last month's webinar on IPM in child care settings and a brand new set of training modules for IPM in child cares.

Attendance at the webinar surpassed our wildest dreams. Well over 600 people were on the call and many of them requested copies of Marcia Anderson's PPT so they could use it for their own training purposes. It goes without saying that all of us on this list serve are huge proponents of IPM but the fact that this webinar drew such a large crowd from the child care community (including center directors and staff, child care health consultants, and state child care licensing staff) is proof that people are hungry for information they can use to improve pest mgmt. practices - and, dare I say it, that IPM is going mainstream!

The second new posting is a comprehensive set training materials for IPM in child care. This training was developed by Jody Gangloff-Hoffmann through an EPA grant and in partnership with the EPA Office of Pesticide Programs, EPA Region 2, Penn State University's Philadelphia School and Community IPM Program, and the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. It is composed of the following modules:

Module 1 - Introduction
Module 2 - for Child Care Center Directors
Module 3 - for Child Care Center Maintenance Staff
Module 4 - for Child Care Center Teachers and Caregivers
Module 5 - Mice and Rats
Module 6 - Cockroaches
Module 7 - Bed Bugs
Module 8 - Flies
Module 9 - Ants
Module 10 - Head Lice

Enjoy - and please share these new resources with your stakeholders!
