Join the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and leading asthma experts, Nancy Sutton, Manager of the Asthma Control Program at the Rhode Island Department of Health, and Jean Zotter, Director of the Asthma Prevention and Control Program at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, to learn about the critical role that community health workers (CHWs) play in asthma management and interventions. Topics of discussion include:
  • How CHWs can help address asthma disparities by bridging cultural gaps and providing culturally appropriate health education.
  • Best practices for mobilizing community resources to incorporate CHWs into asthma interventions.
  • Strategies for obtaining reimbursement for use of CHWs.
